Skiing on Sewege
Today for reading, our group read a article about skiing on sewage. Recycling the water will help the environment. Sewage or toilet water can be used to make snow. There are a lot of people that didn't agree about the recycling of the toilet water. Many people think the yellow snow was from someone's pee, but its not it is the rust from the tubes that made the artificial snow.
Math Electives
This week for maths, our activity was about solving problems. This weeks problem was about elecives. It was about finding the amount of people in each elective group. There were 6 to find, but we also needed to figure out how many people had left the school to go to an inter school sports competition. So we needed to change the amount of kids who are left at school to get the correct answers. We then needed to make a DLO showing how we got our answers, and showing our answers. This activity could either be done individually, or with a partner or group. This time, I worked with jack, and it was a really challenging activity, but on the other hand, really fun to work out. It took jack and I roughly half an hour to get our answer, and once checked, we found that we got all of our answers and working out correct.

is celebrated? Chinese people celebrate their new year all around the world with traditional foods and customs.
Chinese New Year is a very old tradition, with each new year named after a different animal. This year is the year of dog. People born in 2018 are born under the earth dog sign and are likely to be serious and responsible like the earth dog. Chinese New Year is a 15 day celebration with family and friends. Red envelopes are given to children and unmarried adults. These are called Hong Bao and represent good fortune.
Chinese people eat egg wraps, noodles and shrimp during Chinese New Year. Egg wraps represent gold bars and luck. Noodles represent strong relationship to the family, and shrimp represents happiness. There are a lot of traditional foods eaten during this time.
The legend of the Chinese New Year started when a dragon named Nian scared people when the new moon rose. A wise man saw this and told the people of the village how to scare the dragon away. To do this they wore red clothes, lit fires and made loud noises. The dragon was scared away and now each new moon in China this tradition is carried on.
Chinese people celebrate their new year all around the world. The fifteen day celebration ends with a lantern festival and a loud parade help keep the bad spirits away.
Today we are learning about Chinese New Year. We learnt about the legend of Chinese New Year. We used a plan to work out our paragraphs and worked with a partner to write the explanation.
